Dining

Nutrition and hydration are crucial to everyone’s well-being, here at Peninsula we pay particular attention to this for our residents. As a result we place a big emphasis on meal times which provides a great opportunity for socialising whilst enjoying homemade tasty food in a relaxing environment.

Each home provides a choice of where residents can dine. It may be in a large dining room or a smaller area within the lounge. Guests and family members are also welcome to join us for a meal.

Each of our cooks spend time learning resident’s preferences including any allergies, dietary requirements and swallowing difficulties. Pureed food is available and presented in an appetising way.

It is extremely important that we always offer choice. Residents can start their day with a choice of cooked breakfast, porridge, selection of cereals, fruit salad, fruit juices, and toast with selection of jams and marmalade.

For lunch there are usually two hot options, served with a selection of vegetables or salad. Desserts include traditional hot pudding and fruit salad. Homemade cakes or biscuits always accompany afternoon tea. Supper offers a choice of soups, sandwiches and the daily special.

We host a number of food and drink themed activities within our homes. This includes coffee mornings with homemade cakes, country themed meals, treats dipped in chocolate fountains, sherry parties, cheese and wine tasting and mocktail afternoons.
