Investors in People (IIP)

We are delighted to announce that Peninsula Care Homes have once again successfully met The Investors in People standard (IIP).  IIP is a management framework specifically developed for employers to build closer and more productive relationships with their employees.  The renewal of this prestigious IIP standard confirms how much we value each member of staff.  We continue to encourage and develop staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for Peninsula residents.

PV (Photovoltaic) Solar Panels

During December we successfully installed PV (Photovoltaic) Solar Panels for electricity generation at all our homes.   Over the next few months we will install Solar Panels for water heating at Parkland House and Bramble Down and  replace the main boilers and water heaters.  The total investment exceeds £200k and will protect us against further cost increases in gas and electricity.

Cornerways passed CQUIN

We are delighted to announce that Cornerways, in Paignton has successfully met the requirements of CQUIN (Commission for Quality & Innovation), a scheme launched by Torbay Care Trust to identify and recognise providers in the care sector who can demonstrate their commitment to quality and innovation.

In total 41 care homes in Torbay submitted applications, just 36% of the local market. 28 passed outright, including Cornerways, 10 passed ‘with conditions’ and 3 failed to achieve the necessary standards. The application process was extremely detailed and covered areas such as training, nutrition, policies & procedures. This was in addition to meeting the standards set by the industry regulator, Care Quality Commission.

Parkland House in Exeter gains coveted 3 star excellent award from industry regulator, the Care Quality Commission.

Parkland House becomes the only Exeter care home registered for residents with dementia to be awarded the 3 star excellent rating following a recent inspection visit by the Care Quality Commission.

Parkland House is part of Devon based Peninsula Care Homes Ltd., a family owned company with 4 care homes and 1 nursing home in Devon. Parkland House is registered for 52 residents and is located in the St. Thomas area of Exeter.

Not surprisingly, it rarely has any vacancies. Manager Sue Gooding RN attributes the excellent rating to a total commitment to high quality care and offering a wide range of activities that help residents live full and active lives.

According to Peninsulas Managing Director, David Arnold, the company has invested heavily in facilities, staff and training to attain the excellent rating and is committed to achieving this for all its homes.
