Coppelia House is located in the lovely village of Moretonhampstead on the edge of Dartmoor, about 15 minutes from the A38. The home first operated as a Care home over 100 years ago and has undergone several phases of expansion and upgrade that have maintained its original character whilst ensuring that it is always up to date.
Coppelia feels like a traditional country house. It is registered for 30 residents, each in a private room with en-suite facilities. There are choices of communal areas including a large dining room, lounge, conservatory and hair dressing salon. The home has a selection of bathrooms equipped with specialist baths. It has beautiful mature gardens where residents can sit out, or the garden can be enjoyed from the comfort of the conservatory.
The home has a programme of activities and many individual traditions including sherry in the lounge before Sunday lunch and monthly ‘open house’ coffee mornings.
The home has a very long established reputation for providing the highest standards of comfort and care. Carers are qualified to NVQ levels 2 & 3 and the home has a good working relationship with local G.Ps and other medical professionals.
