Coppelia House Statement
As some of our followers may be aware Coppelia House was subject to fire on the evenings of Friday 16th June, Tuesday 20th June and at lunchtime on Friday 23rd June. All our residents and staff were safely evacuated and the fire service were in attendance within minutes.
Sadly on Friday 23rd June we had no option but to close the Home on a temporary basis.
It goes without saying that the professionalism of the local fire crews has been outstanding.
Our staff have been exceptional in their unstinting care during all three incidents with many staff running from their own homes to help. Staff are now working with us at some of the other locations to ensure a familiar face.
We would like to thank the families who remained calm in what was clearly a distressing situation and for those who were able to help with transportation.
The local community overwhelmed us with practical help and support and for this we are extremely grateful. There are many people to mention which include Moretonhampstead Surgery, The White Hart Hotel, the Co-op, the local Village Hall, Simon Franklin, Rector and many friends and neighbours.
Moving forward, our aim is to have Coppelia House up and running as soon as it is safe to do so. If any one wishes to contact us at Coppelia please do so on 01647 440729 between 9am and 4pm. After which messages can be left at Parkland House on 01392 251144.
