Welcome to Parkland House
Parkland House is situated in an elevated position on the western outskirts of Exeter. It is our largest home and is registered for 52 residents. Many rooms have en-suite facilities and the bathrooms and shower rooms have specialist equipment to assist residents in enjoying ‘bath time.’
Parkland House has just added a very large lounge with cathedral ceiling that facilitates a range of activities. It looks onto a beautifully landscaped garden which can be enjoyed from a balcony at one end of the lounge. The extensively redesigned garden includes many sensory features, easy access paths, a greenhouse and raised beds that residents can help maintain. It also provides home for Parkland’s resident pets a guinea pig and rabbit.
Parkland House specialises in excellent quality dementia care and has been highly praised by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). In a recent inspection CQC rated the Home ‘good’ in all areas and made such positive, evidence based comments following their inspection.
Manager Ann, has just completed a 12 month programme delivered by Dementia Care Matters and David Sheard, a nationally recognised leader in Dementia Care.
Food is one of the highlights of the daily routine at Parkland House and residents have a range of choices on where and what they would like to eat. The home has activity staff who assist residents with a variety of activities including massages, gardening, knitting, trips to local cinema, seaside & garden centre. In addition, visits from singers, musicians, the donkey sanctuary and local church groups.
Whilst we can provide a little insight into life at Parkland House there is no substitute for a personal visit. If you are able to make an appointment to look round you will be aware of the happy, friendly atmosphere within the Home.
