Providing Exceptional Care

Cornerways

A care home beside the seaside in South Devon, for those living with dementia.

Cornerways is our seaside care home, just a short walk away from Preston Sands in Paignton.

The ground floor has three large communal areas, the rooms are large and have been cleverly laid out to include smaller 'snug' style areas. They include a TV area, a sun lounge leading to a private patio garden, a railway themed dining area incorporating a resident friendly kitchen and a secure, screened visiting area.

Registered to accommodate 50 people, Cornerways provides residential and dementia care, enabling people to live a full and active life with the support of our experienced team.

Life at our seaside care home, Cornerways

We love to welcome visitors at Cornerways, with two roomy lounges ideal for entertainers and other guests. These are decorated to create distinct zones, providing spots for relaxing or watching television. Particularly popular are two snug areas with sofas, one of which has a fire place. These make cosy spaces for quiet moments or to chat with loved ones.

We are lucky to have a large light and airy dining room, which creates a sociable environment for sitting down to delicous meals prepared by our chef. One end is decorated as a railway carriage, with a mural on the wall and old luggage sparking many conversations about favourite train journeys! There is also a domestic kitchen area for our residents to use, which is perfect for our cookery club.

A busy activities programme

In fact, the dining room is a hub for many of our activities, which range from food tasting to flower arranging, arts and crafts and more. We make good use of technology, with a big, interactive digital table giving us access to many engaging games and sensory experiences.

Bedrooms at Cornerways

A central lift takes you to the bedrooms on the top two floors. These are personalised to make you feel at home, with colourful doors. Each room has a 24 hour call bell system.

Our charming walled garden

Back downstairs, we also have a lovely conservatory, ideal for smaller groups with comfortable chairs to relax in. This leads to a delightful walled garden, featuring many sensory elements and attracting lots of birds and butterflies.

Hopefully, this gives you an insight into what life at Cornerways is like. To find out more, please contact us for a chat about your needs and to arrange an appointment to visit.
