We are delighted that Samantha (Sam) Humphris has joined Peninsula Care Homes team as Home Manager at Plymbridge House.
As Home Manager and registered nurse, I bring over 14 years of experience across residential care, hospital settings, and community nursing. My journey into care began through family influence and grew into a lifelong passion. I’ve worked my way up through a variety of roles, which gives me a deep respect for every part of the team and the importance each department plays in making a house a home.
I’m passionate about person-centred care and creating a warm, supportive environment where residents are truly known and valued. I’m also a strong advocate for people living with dementia, believing they should be empowered to live well, with meaning, joy, and the freedom to enjoy what they love each day.
My vision is for our home to grow with the needs of our community, providing high-quality, individualised care that reflects the diverse and changing needs of our ageing population. I work closely with families and staff to ensure we build trust, provide reassurance, and create a space where everyone feels safe, connected, and at home.
Outside of work, I’m happiest when spending time with my chocolate Labrador or off on an adventure in my campervan. I’m also a very proud “cool auntie” to a bunch of brilliant nieces and nephews, whether I’m getting in the sea at the beach, letting them do my hair and makeup, or getting messy baking in the kitchen, making memories with them is one of my greatest joys.
